Hey Reader,

I'm part of a group going through the Huntingburg Fire Department's Citizens Academy. We had our first class on Tuesday.

It consisted of a history lesson on the progressive growth and development of the modern firefighting force. A model that operates in many communities around the world.

We toured the 9-1-1 center and learned about all the vehicles the department uses.

I am looking forward to what the chief and the other volunteers have in store for our group.
