Issue #237

From Dubois County

Happy midweek, Reader,

There is a dog-powered butter churn at the Dubois County Museum.

It's not small. Imagine an inclined track about half the size of one found on your average small trackhoe. It's attached to a flywheel that works the dasher on the nearby churn.

Apparently, the apparatus was patented in 1871 in upstate New York and was marketed to dairy farmers for a short time.

I am working on a story about the museum and have spent some time wandering around the massive collection on display there.

If you haven't been out there, you should stop by. It's a great place to check out on a cold January day.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

During the 11th station, Jesus is nailed to the cross. Maxwell lay back on the cross as a student hammered a piece of wood, recreating the moment nails were driven through Jesus's hands and feet. Hey Reader, Sorry, the letter is a bit late today. Have a great evening. From Dubois County with love. Matthew and Amy...

Hey Reader, At 11:30 on the dot, about forty adults took off running around the Jasper Square looking for Easter Eggs. More than 1,000 eggs were placed around the square and the courthouse for local realtors and others in the real estate industry. The eggs featured candy, gifts and gift...

Tuesday, March 31, 2026 Issue #282 is today's sponsor. From Dubois County I didn't have any photos to share from Dubois County, so here is a photo of my favorite cookies from a recent trip to Louisville. Hey Reader, I had plans to write something here today. I've been ruminating on an idea for a bit, and a chance encounter recently tied some thoughts together. But alas, it was a busy day, and I won't be able to get it done. Check out the headlines below. I gotta go mow. From Dubois County...
