Issue #332

From Dubois County

Good afternoon, Reader,

The county commissioners approved a firm to create a comprehensive plan for the county last June. The firm gave a presentation on its progress at Monday's meeting.

It is hard to connect the dots for folks on this, but as those opposing solar panels and battery energy storage systems criticize the commissioners for the appearance of lack of activity, the commissioners have been creating the groundwork to address the county's future growth, including how it addresses solar and other large-scale projects

The comprehensive plan is a required component of this, and once it's done, the county will have a guide to how it wants to approach zoning regulations and more.

Also, you may have seen this already. But I love how Designer Kate Canales shows us the humor of homemade signs while emphasizing the importance of our human connections.

This line nails it.

"No matter how you may feel about the advancement of technology in our everyday lives, these signs are evidence that we still need each other out here in the real world to do some very basic things. The person who came before us took the time to leave some instructions to make sure that our experience is a little bit better than theirs."

Have a great day.

From Dubois County with love.
