Issue #337

From Dubois County

Happy Wednesday, Reader,

A group of about 69 folks representing nine different states gathered in front of the Clarion Point in Jasper this morning. Heads bowed, they prayed for safety and fun for the trip and tour of the St. Meinrad Archabbey.

You might see them around the area over the next few days. Organizer Tom Moorehead said they have 29 cars, all over 100 years old, that will head out daily to visit area attractions.

He's from Louisville and has been organizing this group for about 20 years now. They meet for the tour every other year, and this year they chose Indiana because one of the couples is from here. They liked Jasper because the Clarion Point parking lot could hold all their trailers.

Moorehead said they have a lot of fun touring in the cars together. Driving a hundred-year-old car attracts attention. They enjoy the curious questions and will offer rides for those interested.

The next few days are also about the large group getting together.

"The cars bring us together but our friendships are what keep us coming back," he said.

From Dubois County with love.

Monday, June 22, 2026 Issue #335 From Dubois County Bentli Hundley made several circuits on his rollerblades through downtown Jasper this morning. Happy Monday, Reader, I hope everyone did well last night through the outbreak of tornadoes and storms. So far, there have been at least 11 tornadoes confirmed to have touched down in Southern Indiana and Illinois. But it seems that the DuCoDome, as Doug Fischer likes to call it, was activated last night. Tammy Humpert, the emergency management...
