Issue #104

From Dubois County

Happy Thursday, Reader,

I got to spend some time with Vanessa and Brian Stieneker today for a story on their new ice cream shop in Huntingburg.

I could feel the care they are putting into this new business on Fourth Street. Vanessa admitted she's a perfectionist as she described the processes involved in creating the ice cream.

Although it wasn't available to try, I'm looking forward to getting a scoop this weekend or in the very near future.

She said the butter pecan has been described by a friend as the best they have ever had. That's my pick when I go.

We also featured photos from today's shaving cream wiffleball contest at Bohnert Park. I hope you enjoy them as much as Amy did capturing them.

Have a great day.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

Thursday, June 19, 2025 Issue #108 is today's sponsor Amy's Meadow. From Dubois County Hey Reader, Karen and Jose Flores walked me through their entrepreneurial journey today. They own Mi Pais (My Country) Market in Huntingburg and purchased Los Dos Charros, one of Dubois County's first Mexican restaurants. It sometimes strikes me as absurd that I can walk up to someone and ask them their story, and they will tell me. The restaurant wasn't open when I got there, but I could hear voices and...

Wednesday, June 18, 2025 Issue #108 is today's sponsor From Dubois County Rendering of the Regional Wellness Center. Hello Reader, I sat through a three-hour project priority planning meeting yesterday with the City of Jasper and then interviewed the mayor and a councilman about the Regional Wellness Center afterward. I really want you to read the story about the Regional Wellness Center because it's informative and may help clarify what's going on. And then you can share it with your...
