Indiana Landmarks purchased the home at 401 East Second Street in Huntingburg earlier this year with plans to renovate it and find a buyer. Gregory Sekula, Southern Regional Director, was on hand today with Stephanie Richard, director of the Southwest Field Office in Evansville, and Laura Renwick, associate director, as they worked on the home.

Richard and Renwick were scraping paint from the decorative porch cornice as they tested different tools out to do so. Richard said they were testing different tools so they could inform others on which one's worked best.

Sekula said they were seeking any historic information on the home but having trouble finding much out about it. He said it was built in the 1880s and the style matches the house directly across the street, though that house's porch has been enclosed.
