About 75-80 people attended yesterday's open meeting with the county commissioners. While the commissioners welcomed the public discussion on issues with solar installations and battery energy storage systems, the meeting was set to help move forward with potential plans to create countywide zoning.

For an issue that could affect a large portion of the population, only two people really said anything about zoning in their remarks.

Commissioners have been clear, though: zoning is the next step in regulating the installation of these large utility projects.

I'll have a story on the meeting in tomorrow's headlines.
