Issue #111

From Dubois County

Good Tuesday afternoon, Reader,

Stories are funny. Sometimes you have hours in interviewing, observing and photographing your subject and end up writing what you think is a masterpiece with deep social and spiritual meaning that basically flops for readers.

And then you write two paragraphs about some moment and it explodes in popularity.

There are times I wish I didn't have all the numbers so easily accessible.

It seems that it would be more freeing to never know who actually likes your stuff.

I do have an audience in mind when I write, my wife and my friends and myself.

Yes, I write to amuse myself.

Truthfully, yesterday's story about the bed was simply something I threw out there that started with my wife's off-handed comment about the sleep numbers of all the customer service people.

But it still resonated with some people. I even got a call from another Sleep Number bed owner.

Today, we've got another story about the Mid-States Corridor, tuition freezes for Indiana Universities and more.

Have a great day.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

BTW: I'm sending this out a bit early because Amy and I are taking our friends' kids to see Lilo and Stich. It's a great day for a movie and I'm hoping this one holds up to the original from 2002 (two years before we bought our bed, haha).
