Issue #106

From Dubois County

Happy Monday Reader,

It's been a busy day around here.

You can see by the number of items listed below that were published today or over the weekend.

The commissioners had a four-hour meeting today, and we selected a couple of stories from the discussion and decisions they made. There will likely be more published later this week.

Tomorrow at 1 p.m., Jasper is holding a meeting with department heads and council members to discuss the city's priorities over the next year. It is at 1 p.m. in the Pfaffenweiller Room.

Holiday Liquors donated more than $17,000 last week as a result of the annual bourbon raffle they hold. This is the sixth one, and it's grown each time they've held it.

That's all for today. Check out the headlines below.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

Thursday, June 19, 2025 Issue #108 is today's sponsor Amy's Meadow. From Dubois County Hey Reader, Karen and Jose Flores walked me through their entrepreneurial journey today. They own Mi Pais (My Country) Market in Huntingburg and purchased Los Dos Charros, one of Dubois County's first Mexican restaurants. It sometimes strikes me as absurd that I can walk up to someone and ask them their story, and they will tell me. The restaurant wasn't open when I got there, but I could hear voices and...

Wednesday, June 18, 2025 Issue #108 is today's sponsor From Dubois County Rendering of the Regional Wellness Center. Hello Reader, I sat through a three-hour project priority planning meeting yesterday with the City of Jasper and then interviewed the mayor and a councilman about the Regional Wellness Center afterward. I really want you to read the story about the Regional Wellness Center because it's informative and may help clarify what's going on. And then you can share it with your...
