Issue #136

From Dubois County

Hey Reader,

This weather, am I right? Enjoy it while it's here.

Taking photos at the Strassenfest is a blast. There's a lot of energy, people are happy, the food, the fun, the rides.

And we observe some funny things at times.

For example, Amy was taking a photo of a little girl and her brother as they munched on some candy during the opening ceremony on Thursday.

While she was taking photos, she watched the smaller of the two drop a piece of candy in a puddle underneath her. It could have been spilled soda or something, but before Amy could react, the girl picked it up and ate it.

Amy was about to say something to the girl's mom when the girl picked out another piece of candy from the package in her hand, looked at it, and promptly dipped it in the liquid at her feet and ate it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Have a great weekend!

From Dubois County with love.

Monday, August 11, 2025 Issue #141 From Dubois County Late summer truth on Chestnut Street in Huntingburg. Hello, Reader, Over the weekend, my wife and I watched an interesting film, The Life of Chuck. It's hard to write a compelling description for this movie without giving it all away. But for us, it was impactful. We watched it on Friday night, and were still talking about its central truth on the way to church on Sunday morning. I’m still thinking about it today, not just for its plot,...
