Issue #126

From Dubois County

Good afternoon, Reader,

Sam Schwoeppe was my square dance partner back in elementary school. I remember this because I had to look up at her when we do si doed.

On Monday, she stood in front of a crowd of journalists in Washington, D.C., as the USDA announced that ice cream manufacturers were phasing out the use of artificial food dyes.

She does a lot to support the dairy industry. Her family in Huntingburg owns Schwoeppe Dairy, and she serves on the Board of Directors for the Prairie Farms Dairy cooperative and American Dairy Association Indiana.

I did a story about Sam's efforts to help food-insecure folks during the pandemic. Here is that story.

Great job, Sam.

From Dubois County with love.
