Issue #206

From Dubois County

Happy Monday, Reader,

I want to clarify that we only operate as Dubois County Free Press (though this newsletter is called "From Dubois County").

Someone reached out to see if we were behind a certain Facebook page.

We aren't, and no, we don't know who they are.

We don't really do much on Facebook anymore except to share this newsletter and maybe some important, timely information or special photos.

This email newsletter is our main form of communication with our followers.

Early in the life of this news page, we were sent an email that simply said, "Who is the Dubois County Free Press?"

The bylines are under the stories, and when you call us, Amy and I answer the phones.

There is no anonymity. Our successes and failures are on display. We own what we publish.

We appreciate you following us.

We are honored that you support us.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

Wednesday, November 26, 2025 Issue #208 is today's sponsor. From Dubois County Happy Thanksgiving, Reader, As the owner of the tire shop looked at the missing hub bolt on the rear wheel of our heavy-duty Ford flatbed, he put his hands on his hips and delivered the bad news. "I can't replace the tire," he said. We needed a new tire so we could use the truck to pick up 55-gallon barrels to level houseboats on Seattle's Lake Union (but that's a different story). We explained that we were only...
