Issue #207

From Dubois County

Good afternoon, Reader,

Some days involve a lot of information gathering and talking to people.

Today was one of those days.

I am working on a story about the Jasper Lions Club and interviewed Dr. Tom Eversman. At one point, he reeled my questioning in a bit by telling me, "I'm 96, I don't want to get all into that."

Ha.

I also did a quick interview with the owners of Zax. You can see that story below.

And I met up with Ashley at The Venue on Vine for a story on this new addition to Vine Street.

I was also sorry to see Ray Howard had passed away. I've interviewed Mr. Howard for various reasons at different seasons of his life, whether as a Jasper Councilman or at the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame. But I also remember when he preached at Central Christian Church in Huntingburg for a season as they were seeking a new pastor. I enjoyed his messages from the pulpit and always enjoyed talking with him.

Rest in peace.

From Dubois County with love.

Matthew and Amy Crane

Wednesday, November 26, 2025 Issue #208 is today's sponsor. From Dubois County Happy Thanksgiving, Reader, As the owner of the tire shop looked at the missing hub bolt on the rear wheel of our heavy-duty Ford flatbed, he put his hands on his hips and delivered the bad news. "I can't replace the tire," he said. We needed a new tire so we could use the truck to pick up 55-gallon barrels to level houseboats on Seattle's Lake Union (but that's a different story). We explained that we were only...
